Guest Speaker:Dr Alistair Lindsay MBChB MRCP MBA DPhil
Dr Alistair Lindsay is an interventional cardiology fellow at Royal Brompton Hospital. He joined in 2010 from the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where he was the Radcliffe Cardiovascular Fellow
Dr Lindsay's main research interest is the use of both invasive and non-invasive techniques to characterise atherosclerosis and vascular disease. In particular he has experience in the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), and optical coherence tomography (OCT) to assess vascular disease. He has participated in both local and international studies on the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease.
Dr Lindsay serves on the editorial board of the cardiovascular journal Heart, for which he writes the monthly JournalScan column and blog (Heart_BMJ).
He holds degrees in molecular biology and medicine from the University of Edinburgh, a DPhil from the University of Oxford, and an MBA from London Business School.
In 2010 he was named "Young Trainee of the Year" by the Royal Society of Medicine.
